At the heart of Northern Europe, less than three hours from three major European capitals, Dunkirk and its surrounding area have been able to combine sustainable development and economic dynamism.
Benefiting from exceptional transport infrastructures – the TGV high-speed train, a number of motorways, close proximity to the Channel Tunnel and one of the three largest French ports, Dunkirk is naturally open to Europe and the world. Moreover, leading companies such as Air Liquide, Arcelor and Astra Zeneca, to name but a few, have invested in the area.
You are doubtless already aware of the legendary Dunkirk carnival, Jean Bart – the greatest privateer under Louis XIV, and our port that generates traffic of over fifty million metric tons of merchandise every year. However, I would like to invite you to come and discover our many other assets.
A coastal area bordered by a beach of 15 kilometres of fine sand, the Dunkirk region is also a renowned seaside resort that combines the famous welcome of the “people of the North”, fresh air, the multiple facets of its natural settings, the bustle of its tourist resorts, the charm of its hinterland, the intoxication of board sports and the richness of its cultural, historical and gastronomical heritage.
Our town, one of the youngest and most dynamic in France, and seat of the Littoral Côte d’Opale University, attracts over 6,000,000 visitors every year who come to take advantage of our extensive facilities, such as the 27-hole golf course, the Port Museum or Dunkerque Kursaal, one of the only Conference Centres in France situated on the water’s edge, between land and sea.
Come share and exchange in THE new exhibition hall on the Opal Coast. Dunkerque Kursaal offers you a modular area of 6,200 m2 equipped with all the latest technical innovations. A venue of the highest quality, divisible into 1 area of 3,200 m2 and 2 areas of 1,500 m2, and providing an unbeatable view of the sea.
