About GEMS

After 12 years at the Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, Kent, the BMF’s Garden of England Motorcycle Show (GEMS) is on the move, changing dates and combining with the big wheels of Truckfest South East!
The Show will move to the nearby Kent County Showground at Detling, and be held one week earlier over the weekend of 31st May and 1st June, coinciding with the staging of Truckfest South East. Anyone attending GEMS will now get free entry to the Truckfest event as well.
GEMS regularly attracts around 20,000 show goers and has established itself as popular summer destination but recent up dates at the Hop Farm have meant several changes to the event that the BMF believe would be detrimental. Truckfest South East also attracts around 20,000 visitors and is now well established at the venue as part of the successful and well-established programme of regional Truckfest events run by Live Promotions.
Tony Young, BMF Director with responsibility for events said: “We know the Garden of England Motorcycle Show (GEMS) is a fantastic event and we all want the show to grow and continue its success for many years to come, however, changes at the Hop Farm will cause significant problems for the layout and reduce the benefits to the BMF and our attendees. The move to Detling, which is only around 14 miles away, will mean a bigger show, a much better venue with improved facilities, more and better roadways, better access, better main arena entertainment, a bigger building for the evening entertainment and of course two shows for the price of one!”
GEMS will retain its identity as a motorcycle event and will share the massive Kent Showground with Truckfest, with its own exhibition and camping areas.
The successful GEMS mix of two days of action packed entertainment, arena stunt acts, a custom show, hundreds of exhibitors and fair rides will be retained and works well with Truckfest which will also bring a mix of celebrities, entertainment and attractions
