About the trade show

The Durham Fair is the largest agricultural fair in Connecticut. Established in 1916, our fair is traditionally held the last full weekend of September. We feature many traditional agricultural programs year after year, as well as many brand new exhibits, activities and fair food items.

The Durham Fair is owned and operated by the Durham Agricultural Fair Association, Inc. We are a private not-for-profit organization.

Community Participation
The Durham Fair is the largest fair in North America without a paid manager or staff. In addition to the members of the Durham Agricultural Fair Association and the hundreds of volunteers who help directly operate the Durham Fair, the volunteers of many participating local organizations contribute to the spirit of community that is not found at other larger agricultural fairs. These local organizations include schools, churches, clubs, civic groups, and more. The participation of so many community volunteers serves to balance the enormous commercial activity required to serve the needs and wants of our fairgoers which, in turn, is critical to achieving our mission of preserving and promoting the agricultural heritage of Connecticut.
