About the trade show

Hanging on the northern slope of the Grand Luberon, Castellet stretches of the river at Calavon Mourre Negro, which rises to 1125m and offers fantastic views of the Mediterranean to the Barre des Ecrins. The relief shows the typical forms. On the one hand side of the Luberon mountain looking for steep, gullied by erosion, where the limestone outcrops as cliffs, rocks and scree. Of deep valleys and wild woodlands of oak and beech converge towards the ridge. On the other hand, an alluvial piedmont that slopes toward the low Calavon. Fertile area, cultivated for ages, it is littered foothills of the hard work of men and the village houses and hamlets.

The main activity of Castellet is based on agriculture. The olive tree has almost disappeared after the damage caused by frost in 1956, 62 and 85. Fruit trees, almond, plum and cherry trees especially are still resisting, but the melon hill is scarce. The vine continues with a recent trend to table grapes. The lavender has a place and allows an artisan distillery in the village to survive.
