About Pollutec

Pollutec, the international exhibition of environment equipment, technologies and services, closed its doors on 3rd December. Despite heavy snowfalls on the first day, which paralysed the region, and a severe weather warning, this, the 24th show, attracted 50,830 professional visitors. Although this total was 31% down on 2008, the fact that 50,830 visitors did do battle with conditions shows just how important it is for a large number of environment professionals to actively take part in this key event and it is also a good indicator of the current economic vitality of the eco-technologies. Pollutec 2012 was also an opportunity for participants to gather information and/or acquire new expertise through a varied and high quality range of lectures. Besides such high profile meetings as the MEDDTL [French environment ministry] seminar on the challenges of metrology and instrumentation in the environment field and the one looking at how companies can take biodiversity into account, numerous other topics were addressed covering all areas of the environment and sustainable development. One of the key strands running through the show and one that was expressed in various ways was the focus on Chile as country of the year.
