About the trade show

Garage sale on the streets of the village organized by the festival committee Castellet

Hanging on the northern slope of the Grand Luberon, Castellet stretches of the river at Calavon Mourre Negro, which rises to 1125m and offers fantastic views of the Mediterranean to the Barre des Ecrins.

The main activity of Castellet is based on agriculture. The olive tree has almost disappeared after the damage caused by frost in 1956, 62 and 85. Fruit trees, almond, plum and cherry trees especially are still resisting, but the melon hill is scarce. The vine continues with a recent trend to table grapes. The lavender has a place and allows an artisan distillery in the village to survive.
Can still be seen in the mountain valleys where the mules charbonneries their loads coming back down into the valley. The ceramic industry founded in 1728 by potter Mill contributed to the reputation of the village until 1852 and beyond.
