About the trade show
The 118th Congress of the French Society of Ophthalmology (Société Française d’Ophtalmologie / SFO) will take place in Paris, at “le Palais des Congrès”, 2 place de la Porte Maillot. The final programme will be sent to our members in the first days of April. The topic of “le Rapport” (the annual book of SFO) is “Uveitis”, edited by Antoine Brézin.
The topic of the European Symposium is « Progresses in research and care for lifelong good vision ». It will be the opportunity for European associations to address the administrative supervision and repeat again that a life long good vision is a medical fight, and only medical. Invited delegates from foreign societies are coming this year from Chile, Syria and for the first time, from a US town, Chicago in 2012, other cities in the future. Invited lectures are “enzymatic vitreolysis” by Marc de Smet (Lausanne, Switzerland), “Femtoseconds and new corneal grafts” by Rudy Nuijts (Maastricht, the Nederlands) and “Adult strabismus: the Importance of surgical correction” by Nathalie Azar (Chicago, USA). French, European and US CME Credits are given for “Teaching and News” sessions and Round Tables in free access. Surgical skills transfer labs, operating throughout the congress, and interactive workshops in a large number, also give credits. Registration for these workshops is already possible via the registration form attached to the pre-programme. Congress rooms, teaching sessions, interactive workshops and surgical skills transfer labs are restricted to members of the Society.
