About the trade show
XXII CEDE - a traditional convention, but with something different too!!!
The Convention will be different this year, because half (five thematic sessions) of the programme of the Dental Team Convention will focus on the changing social, economic and legal conditions that we dental surgeons must cope with in everyday dental practice.
The Convention will also be traditional, because it will feature a large, interesting exhibition, and an extensive scientific-training programme, and because it will be a professional, interesting event and will take place in comfortable and friendly surroundings
The difference: I don't know how You, my colleagues, feel about all the new directives, requirements, reports, annual training sessions (Health and Safety, X rays) compulsory equipment testing, new workplace requirements, and the complaints that patients lodge address to medical associations and the courts, and so on and so forth. But I myself have to count to ten and recall those carefree years when dentistry was a more trouble-free profession to let my adrenaline subside. We can bemoan these difficult times, battle as long as we like with pressure groups constantly forcing through new regulations, but we cannot ignore the laws in force regardless of our attitude towards them. These are increasingly tough times for the dental profession and we should be prepared for them in the best possible way. With this fact in mind, we have organised several sessions dealing with legal, economic and psychological issues to make you aware of the daily hazards that we must confront in our work, whether we want to or not. We have invited several outstanding lecturers to speak: Jacek Santorski, Dariusz Czuma, Tomasz Jamrozik, Magdalena Szumska, Justyna Zajdel and Radosław Zajdel. They will provide us with a closer look at problems in business psychology, marketing and management. They will discuss the dilemmas of commercial medicine, advise us on how to maintain physical and mental well-being when practising what is a very tough profession, explain how to organise a dental practice so that you can happily and safely work in your chosen field, earn a living and pay your taxes. Finally, in a session that will be repeated three times so that every one can participate, Justyna Zajdel, lawyer and MD, Phd, will inform us of the rights of the patient and the obligations of the dentist, as well as elaborate on many unknown and undervalued aspects of our work. She will draw our attention to the many dangers lying in wait for us whenever we provide dental treatment, and explain how much in conflict situations depends on our knowledge of the law, so that, when we work honestly and professionally, we will not find ourselves having any problems with "the law" in such conflict situations.
