About the conference
Islamic Banking and Takaful: Promoting it in a Real, Practical Sense as Means for Developing Agriculture, Microfinance, SMEs and other Sectors of Economy.
Islamic finance is a very fast growing phenomenon globally. Since its inception just about four decades ago, the sector has shown exponential growth in almost all areas of the World. The Islamic Development Bank and its affiliated units have played a key role in providing guidelines to Islamic finance. Pakistan is among the fore runners of the countries where Islamic Banking and finance has developed at a rapid pace with strong institutional support and guidance.
Pak Finance is symbolic i.e. for Pure in Urdu, and as acronym for the country name
The Event aims to bring stakeholders of Islamic Finance under one roof and provide a common platform where the international experts, academics, research scholars, policy makers, regulators, Islamic finance and takaful providers, representatives of trade bodies and business associations, government functionaries and end users can exchange their views and share ideas for the growth and development of the economy and the country by promoting Islamic Finance with its true spirit. It also aims to highlight the guidelines of interest free financial system presented by Allama Iqbal in his philosophy, and the Quaid-e-Azam in his addresses.
For 2012 event, the main focus is on growing sectors of Agriculture and Livestock, Microfinance and SME as well as on socio-economic development.
