About the trade show
The 43rd Union World Conference on Lung Health will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 13 - 17 November 2012. This 5 day conference will cover the latest developments, opportunities and challenges in tuberculosis, HIV, tobacco control, lung health and non-communicable diseases. The Union World Conference on Lung Health is the largest annual conference focusing on lung health issues particularly as they affect low- and middle-income populations in addition to innovative and current scientific work. Presenters and delegates from more than 120 countries participate each year in the 5-day event, which offers some 150 post-graduate courses, workshops, symposia and other sessions. One of the great strengths of The Union conference is the "bottom-up" process used to develop the scientific programme. Any interested person may develop a proposal and submit it for review by the Scientific Programme Committee. Submissions are now open for the 2012 World Conference, and we welcome your ideas for sessions relating to our 2012 theme Driving sustainability through mutual responsibility. This theme relects the need for innovative finance and quality assurance mechanisms to ensure a sustainable health response. It emphasises the mutual responsibility of donors, government, civil society organisations and affected communities, policy-makers, researchers, and implementers for achieving common goals.
