About Automation World

Korea’s top automation industry exhibition, Automation World, will be returning in 2012 for its 23rd year in the business. Automation World 2012, which will run from April 3rd – 6th at Coex Convention Center in Seoul, will focus on the merger between IT and sustainability in factory and building automation, and the newly-placed importance on the industry that has resulted.

Last year’s Automation World was the largest expert exhibition on automation in Asia, with 300 exhibiting companies from both Korea and abroad, and nearly 20,000 buyers in attendance. This year, Automation World will increase its focus on sustainable and IT-driven automation technologies.

In 2011, Coex organized several widely attended industry seminars and side events to globalize Automation World and raise its domestic profile. The great success of these events has led to their continuation and expansion for 2012.

The First Automation World Conference, introduced in 2011, drew much attention from both domestic and global industry watchers. Held under the theme of “Future Forecast of and Strategies to Respond to Smart and Green Automation,” the conference sessions focused on new technologies and global trends. Groups like Kia Motors and POSCO introduced case studies on building sustainable automation, and smaller groups LSIS and Rockwell Automation presented their solution development programs. The Second Automation World Conference theme will be announced later this year.

The IBS wing of Automation Week held a separate conference on building automation and design. Finally, the exhibitors’ vendor seminar held during the exhibition was organized to provide maximum opportunities for information exchange and industry development. Both of these events will also continue into 2012.
