About the trade show

INDUSTRIE Paris 2010 has just closed its doors with exhibitors and visitors all talking about the first signs of recovery visible in the aisles. Prime manufacturers, keen to test out the market, talked about ‘finalising projects’ and ‘a need to invest in innovative and competitive equipment in readiness for the recovery’ as their prime reasons for visiting the first major industry event of the year, shortly after the conclusion of the high-level French industry conference, the États Généraux de l’Industrie. Visitors appreciated the efficient, businesslike atmosphere. And, for the first time in a long while, exhibitors sold machines to visitors who came with parts or plans for parts. A sign of the times, the stands of manufacturers of special machines were particularly busy. INDUSTRIE pursued its ‘themed villages’ idea, reflecting trends in the sector: INDUSTRIE 2020, run by CETIM and Symop, unveiled forthcoming projects in the fields of assembly, machining, drilling and robotics The MECASPHERE Village provides support for the capital investment, patent registration and funding requirements of mechanical engineering companies The new EPI Village highlighted the role of humans in a world of machines A Nuclear Village set up with the Burgundy Nuclear Partnership drew a large number of visitors with a programme of high-level talks and an original stand combining industrial projects and specific training courses… and Burgundy wine.
